Strong calendar ahead for ExCeL's Conference & Events team

25 February 2022

2022 is set to be a strong year ahead for ExCeL London’s Conference & Events Team as market confidence returns leading to a run of key events.

Major congresses such as the Joint Annual Meeting ISMRM-ESMRMB and the ISMRT 31st Annual Meeting in May, together with the International Liver Congress in June and the 27th WONCA Europe Conference in July are just some of those being hosted at the London venue.

Tech events such as Temenos 2022, taking place in May, and Salesforce World Tour London 2022, also in May, similarly are showing a strong appetite for face-to-face events following the pandemic, particular with travel restrictions in the UK now far more relaxed than other parts of Europe.

The sector is also boosted with developments such as the new high-speed Elizabeth line beginning this year, which will massively reduce journey times to the venue by as much as half. Furthermore, the venue’s new 25,000sqm expansion programme begins shortly, led by client demand and further enhancing the venue as a world class facility.

James Rees, Executive Director of the C&E Team at ExCeL, said: “Having attended the PCMA Convening Leaders event in Las Vegas earlier this year, it is clear the general consensus is that face-to-face events are coming back…with renewed purpose.

“Corporate clients are looking at new ways to bring people together, rather than the pre-pandemic cookie-cutter approach. They know and acknowledge that face-to-face events are invaluable and drive stakeholder engagement, which drives both economic and sustainable legacy benefits to their organisations.”

He added: “Here at ExCeL we’re looking forward to doing what we do best, deliver world class events.”
