Bett 2013 sees an 18% rise in visitors at ExCeL London

29 April 2013

Bett has attracted more than 35,000 visitors following its move to ExCeL London.

Educational technology show Bett has attracted more than 35,000 visitors (unaudited) following its move to ExCeL London. Figures for the show, which ran between 30 January and 2 February, suggest 2013 was the show's most successful year to date, with an 18 per cent rise on last year's event.

Organised by i2i Events, Bett moved to ExCeL London from Olympia after 28 years in order to accommodate greater visitor numbers. The larger venue enabled the show's expansion across the whole learning spectrum to include higher education (HE) and workplace learning.

The number of exhibitors increased to just over 700, and many companies ran free training and demonstration sessions. The Bett Arena, in partnership with Microsoft, was new to this year's show.

"Moving to a new venue gave us the opportunity to really invest in the content of the show", said Debbie French, education portfolio director at i2i Events Group. "We worked alongside partners such as [ICT association] Naace, [special needs support association] nasen and the British Educational Suppliers Association, as well as teachers, leading enterprise professionals and education thought leaders to put together training that would resonate with all areas of our audience.

More than 10,000 international visitors from more than 120 countries also attended the show, an increase of 16 per cent on 2012's figures.
