For ExCeL London, this event is an opportunity to build closer working relationships with key agency clients, as well as showcase the venue’s £15 million investment in the delegate catering experience.
Following both a ‘signature bake’ (gingerbread men) and a ‘technical challenge’ (fondant fancies), Fisher Productions were named worthy winners by judges Jonathan Belford, from ExCeL London Hospitality, and Anna Gazzaniga, from Gaucho.
Kate Kelly, Account Director, Fisher Productions, said: “The Fisher team had such a brilliant day at the 2018 Great Agency Bake Off and could not believe that we left as champions! One of our colleagues went last year and loved the experience so we were excited to go back and have another shot at claiming the trophy. It was such as great way to get to know the ExCeL team and network with other agencies whilst getting competitive with gingerbread! Although we won’t be giving up the day job and moving into catering anytime soon, we can’t wait to come back and defend our title next year. Thanks again for organising such a fantastic fondant fuelled day.”
James Rees, Executive Director, ExCeL London, added: “We were delighted to host our fourth Great Agency Bake Off, spending quality time with some of the top event agencies in the UK. At ExCeL, food is at the heart of our home, so it’s fitting that we bring our team and clients together for this event. The Bake Off has become so popular that it is now an established social event in agencies’ busy diaries. The event, like the bakes, gets more competitive every year and it’s great to see such friendly rivalry between the teams! Many congratulations to Fisher Productions on their win - we look forward to welcoming everyone back next year to see who will take the 2019 title!”
