International confidence “bouncing back” says ExCeL delegation at Florida’s SISO Summit

24 March 2022

Members of the ExCeL London team attending this week’s SISO CEO Summit say delegates have reported an overwhelming return in market confidence both in the UK and across the pond.

In further positive news for the international events community, organisers are now embracing a blend of live and digital events according to the venue’s CEO Jeremy Rees and CCO Simon Mills.

Held from 21-24 March at the Vinoy Renaissance Resort in St. Petersburg, Florida, SISO is regarded as the networking and information-sharing event for global show organisers.

Speaking on site from the well attended summit, Rees commented: “Almost two years to the day since the start of the lockdown in the UK, and it’s clear to see the events industry - both here and Stateside - is bouncing back, particularly with the continued easing of travel restrictions.

“We’re also seeing buyers having the confidence to consider wider revenue streams, whilst sellers are offering digital and data collateral as a further insurance scheme against the pandemic.”

He added: “For ExCeL and for the capital, the US market remains of crucial importance, not just for the events industry, but for the wider £32.1 billion inbound tourism sector.”
