Waste not want not
Not only do we make sure leftover food and drink from events goes to where the need is greatest, but we also encourage our team to donate directly to Community Food Enterprise (CFE), one of our chosen local charities. This month the team at ExCeL collected over 100 Easter treats for local children who may otherwise have missed out. Community Food Enterprise (CFE) distributed these across the Borough of Newham.
Working with organisers
We can connect you with CFE to collect surplus food and drink from promotional activities, giveaways or a hospitality initiative. For example, last year, we were able to donate nearly three tonnes of surplus oranges, bananas and bottled water to local projects, including food banks, which had been left over from a single event alone. ExCeL London Hospitality also works closely with CFE to redistribute leftover food from our production kitchens.
The ExCeL team
We buy surplus farm fruit for our staff as healthy snacks directly from CFE, helping to reduce waste and creating much needed income.
