Of course, first up will be the start of the venue’s expansion programme which breaks ground later this year. Adding an additional 25,000sqm to the east side of the building, the significant investment will ensure ExCeL continues to be the home of world leading events across London and beyond.
What’s more, this summer see’s the opening of the long-awaited Elizabeth Line (Crossrail) which includes a dedicated stop right outside ExCeL. Once fully operational, users will be able to travel from London Heathrow to the venue in just 43 minutes. And with two other stations, an airport, cable car, river services, bus, taxi and car parking all onsite or nearby, it’s arguably one of the most connected venues there is.
So, with plenty of ways to travel to ExCeL, here’s just a few of the events coming up in 2022…
The year kickstarts with the 2022 Carole Nash MCN London Motorcycle Show returning to ExCeL this February. The Show offers everything from the latest bikes and launches from manufacturers, through to an exclusive Valentino Rossi tribute, and even live racing action.

From boxing to table tennis, ExCeL played host to a wide number of Olympic sports during the highly successful 2012 London Games. Now 10 years on, there will be a series of celebrations marking the occasion.

Returning to ExCeL for a second consecutive year, the all-electric race series uses the world’s first indoor/outdoor circuit created especially for this event.
This inclusive and accessible event is aimed at everyone from renters and students to house-sharers and home-owners, to learn how to create more sustainable, organised and clean homes.
