Our brand new convention expansion, which features two large-scale event spaces, will add an additional 25,000sqm (270,000sqft) to our venue, and is designed to be hired exclusively or integrated into Excel's existing building.
We have sought after to create the most sustainable scheme possible and will be targeting a Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) rating of 'Excellent'. As part of the project, a substantial investment will also be made in the public realm including new greenery along the dock edge, improved landscaping for pedestrians and cyclists, and a new pocket park.
The top floor 'ICC Maritime Suite' will feature floor-to-ceiling windows and outdoor terraces that overlook Royal Victoria Dock. Designed as the main meeting floor, this area has the capability of up to 37 individual rooms with moveable walls to provide the utmost flexibility for audiences of up to 7,000.
On the ground floor, there will be a 12,000sqm (120,000sqft) blank canvas environment for exhibitions, bespoke productions and integrated catering areas. Visitors will be able to access the new spaces using a dedicated, private entrance located directly opposite the Aloft hotel.
The ICC expansion will continue to enhance our world-class venue infrastructure, making it the largest integrated exhibition and convention centre in Europe.
