It is important for us to connect with our local community and ensure we are a positive influence. We support local organisations, schools and charities to grow and develop to their full potential and take pride in using our events as a platform for positive impact.
Bonny Downs Community Association is a dynamic community-led charity that serves a diverse cross-section of residents in the Borough of Newham. We provide multi-faceted support through annual funding, volunteering opportunities and various forms of donation.
Community Food Enterprise (CFE) works in East London to provide access to healthy and nutritious food, particularly for local nursery and school children. We support CFE with annual funding, staff donation drives during times of shortage, and donations of surplus food from events, wherever possible.
Newham All Star Sports Academy (NASSA) helps young people thrive through sport by providing coaching, training, and after-school activities. Funding from Excel London enables NASSA to further its reach locally.
Richard House Children’s Hospice provides support to more than 300 local families. Excel London contributes through annual funding, providing fundraising opportunities from events and raising the profile of the incredible work of the hospice and its team.
INSPIRE is a London-based education charity that helps young people aged 3–24 build skills and confidence for the world of work. They connect schools with employers to provide work experience, mentoring, and career-related learning, aiming to boost social mobility and career opportunities.
Every Child Online is a charity dedicated to closing the digital divide by providing refurbished computers to children and young people in need. They collect surplus laptops, PCs, and tablets from businesses and individuals, refurbish them to a high standard, and distribute them free of charge to schools, charities, and social service departments across the UK
Custom House Community Bookshop is very local and small community bookshop formed by residents in the ward of Custom House. The four main areas of interest for the bookshop are literature, events and activities related to BAME, disabled, LGBT and Women's issues. Emphasis is placed on children and the promotion of health.
It’s more important than ever for us to impact our community positively. As an anchor institution, we provide employment opportunities in the local area and have been a London Living Wage Employer since 2022, a commitment we also require our suppliers of labour to fulfil.
We also host business-to-business events, many of which are free to attend but which the local community may not be aware of. We work with Newham Council to ensure events are publicised to people, groups and businesses in the local area, maximising these valuable learning and networking opportunities for the borough’s diverse community.
As well as assisting charities directly, we provide support to community organisations – from making venue facilities available free of charge and hosting work experience placements, to donating to local education providers and supporting our customers to engage with local schools
Excel aims to be an industry leader in venue security. With millions of visitors a year, we give top priority to ensuring everyone’s safety and security. Focusing on six key risk areas—including terrorism, crime, and safeguarding—it works closely with staff, event organisers, local authorities, and community groups to ensure a secure environment.
As part of the South Newham Community Security Zone, Excel’s Head of Security leads efforts to address local crime and safety issues. The venue also funds wider estate security and actively supports initiatives like counterterrorism training, WAVE training for protecting vulnerable people, and joint emergency response exercises with local services.
This form is for free-of-charge event space requests for the local community, charities, educational institutions and other social enterprises.
We recognise the powerful opportunity of connecting and bringing people together through events, especially when they generate social value that supports our local and wider communities.
All requests are reviewed, and our team will be in touch following submission of this form.
