KEEPING YOUR EVENT SPOTLESS 

At Excel, we’re committed to helping you deliver an exceptional experience for your attendees. Our dedicated cleaning team ensures that your event space is clean, safe, and ready to go from the moment you arrive. 

From January 2026 we will be using a new cleaning supplier.

A fairer, more transparent cleaning cost model 

We’ve recently carried out an extensive review of our cleaning cost model to ensure it reflects today’s operating environment and supports you in planning your event more easily. The updated model replaces one that had been in place for many years and now takes into account rising costs, such as increases in the living wage. Most importantly, it’s designed to make budgeting simpler – with cleaning costs calculated based on your final take-up plan gross square meterage. 

This ensures greater transparency, fairness and ease when forecasting your event costs. 

Non-carpeted areas

What’s included in your licence

You’ll automatically benefit from the following cleaning services as part of your licence:

  • Event cleaning management – A dedicated cleaning manager and supervisors to oversee your event.
  • Pre-tenancy cleaning – Organiser offices and all licensed areas cleaned and ready before tenancy begins.
  • Common area cleaning – Regular cleaning of the Boulevard, food courts/catering areas (including in-hall), and all toilet facilities throughout tenancy.
  • Furniture and fixture cleaning – All Excel-provided furniture and fixtures cleaned pre-tenancy.
  • Daily cleaning during live event days – Hoovering of all licensed carpeted areas to maintain a professional appearance throughout your event.
  • Helpdesk support – A responsive Helpdesk available during venue working hours for any cleaning-related enquiries. 

Chargeable cleaning services (based on new cost model)

To help you maintain the highest standards throughout your event, we can also provide:

  • Pre-open, daily and post-event cleaning of licensed areas and organiser offices, including hoovering of gangways.
    (Please note: this excludes in-hall food courts serviced by ELH, as these are covered within the licence.)
  • Stand and feature area cleaning – Daily hoovering or mopping of floors to maintain a clean and professional appearance. 

Permanently carpeted areas 

What’s included in your licence

You’ll automatically benefit from the following cleaning services as part of your licence:

  • Cleaning Manager / Supervisors for your event 
  • Cleaning of organiser offices and licensed areas pre tenancy 
  • Cleaning of common areas – Boulevard, Food Courts / Catering Areas (including in-hall), organiser offices and toilet facilities throughout tenancy 
  • Cleaning of all Excel provided furniture and fixtures pre-tenancy 
  • Pre-open clean of all licensed carpeted areas 
  • Daily cleaning during live event days – hoovering of all licensed permanently carpeted areas 
  • Helpdesk service for cleaning enquiries during venue working hours 

 

Chargeable cleaning services (based on new cost model)

To help you maintain the highest standards throughout your event, we can also provide:

  • Per sqm cleaning charge for non-carpeted areas as per gross plan 
  • Cleaning between conference sessions or feature area programmes (must be booked in advance) 

All cleaning services will be provided exclusively by Excel. Appointing third-party cleaning contractors are not permitted. If cleaning services are required, organisers must engage Excel directly.

Those choosing to opt out will need to sign a waiver acknowledging the associated implications at least six weeks prior to tenancy.

Please note that if you later decide to use Excel’s cleaning services, same-day resources cannot be guaranteed.

THE NEW CHARGING MODEL

In 2026, the cost is 23 pence per square metre multiplied by the gross square metres (as per final take-up plan, minus any in-hall catering areas provided by ELH) multiplied by the number of live days.
