Operations toolkit

Rigging is essential to the safe and successful delivery of complex builds and high-impact promotional installations across our event spaces.

Organisers have the option to use either the Excel Rigging team or an approved third-party contractor for banner installations. The following information will help you make a safe, informed choice that best supports your event needs.

Why choose Excel Rigging for your event banners

Opting for Excel Rigging ensures your event banners are installed before your tenancy begins - saving valuable time on your build day.

If you use a third-party contractor, please note that full details of your banner specifications must still be submitted in advance (see details below) as Excel’s rigging team must still prepare the primary rigging points prior to your tenancy. In this case, rigging will need to be scheduled for the first day of your tenancy, potentially reducing the time available for your event build.

For a smoother and more efficient setup, we recommend using Excel Rigging.

Banners

Excel offers three standard banner rigging packages:

B01 is the hanging of a simple 2-dimensional banner, up to 2.5m wide, and a weight of 50kg.
B02 is the hanging of a simple 2-dimensional banner, up to 6m wide, and a weight of 50kg.
B03 is a lightweight unusual shaped banner - i.e. cube / circle - frame supplied by client, up to 2.5m wide, with a static load up to 60kgs.

We can also accept bespoke banners – please outline clearly what you need in your email.

To request a quote, please email rigging@excel.london. When contacting us, please include the following details:

  1. The banner rigging package you require (see options above)

To take advantage of the advance ratecard, please ensure your order confirmation is received 28 days prior to your first day of tenancy.

Using a third-party contractor

Third-party contractors are permitted to make secondary fixings to rigging points supplied by the venue providing that:

  1. The ‘Banner Rigging order confirmation’ form is completed at least 28 days prior to the first day of tenancy. Please note this form is only sent via email so please email rigging@excel.london with your details first. This form is the certification of integrity for the attachment of items which are to be rigged.
  2. The arrangement is agreed in writing prior to the work being undertaken.
  3. The details of the contract – include the name of the actual person carrying out the work - is supplied in advance and is competent to carry out the fixings.

  5. Suitable safety arrangements are made for overhead working, which do not conflict or present a hazard to ground level work.
  6. Suspended systems are installed prior to the commencement of stand building wherever possible.
  7. A report from a structural engineer is supplied for structures which are to be rigged (if appropriate), in accordance with the complex structure procedure detailed in the Stand Plans section.

Please note, there will still be a cost as Excel’s rigging team must prepare the primary rigging points prior to your tenancy. To request a quote please email rigging@excel.london with details including:
